the ronda farmhouse

the farmhouse The farmhouse is nestled in Rondas famous protected Tajo Valley,

Hidden amongst the many mature walnut and fruit trees the farmhouse looks down across its 2 hectares of land. The invitingly refreshing swimming pool, a sizeable 10m x 4 m, sits in the centre surrounded by grass and fruit and olive trees. Nearby is a grassed area sheltered by the mature trees for children to play on swings, trampoline and hammocks.

The 100 year old idyllic farmhouse has been lovingly restored by its owners using traditional building methods, keeping its beautiful rustic simplicity whilst adding snippets of timeless modern design.

Flowing along one side of the land, hidden behind the mature trees runs the famous Tajo river. Winding its way down from the famous New Bridge in Ronda, its fresh flowing waters is full of fish, terrapins and even a beaver who has been spotted from time to time by the swimming pool.

The views of the distance mountains are outstanding but also the the close view of the chalk ridge where the bustling city of ronda sits, is indeed a beautifully breathtaking sight.

Its location does not get any more perfect, a two minute drive up the winding cobbled Tajo road takes you to the bottom of the old town of Ronda into the district of Barrio de San Francisco. With its beautiful square this is indeed the ultimate immersion into authentic Spanish life, with its bars, restaurants and small local stores.

Here you will only find tranquility and peace in abundance, it really is hard to leave.

A beautiful handmade and painted traditional kitchen with wooden worktops and hob, fridge and dishwasher, all plates and glasses are provided. The dining area has a beautiful old wooden family table with chairs for inside meals (another large table with umbrella is located outside for al fresco dining). Here a door leads into the wetroom, this large room is a lot of fun for everyone and easy access from outside if you have just come up from the pool.

The sitting area is close to the kitchen for constant communication whilst people can sit comfortably on the two large deep settees and coffee table, whilst another seating area with a woodburner and two comfortable chairs can be found around the corner.

The large original wooden double doors open up onto the main original cobbled patio with its table and chairs for dining al fresco or just relaxing, and another entrance to the downstairs wetroom, ideal when you have walked up from the swimming pool.

Cobbled steps take you down into the two hectares of land and lead you to the refreshingly inviting swimming pool, set amongst fruit and olive trees.

Upstairs are three large double bedrooms, with space for extra sleeping if arranged.

The main bedroom has a small balcony which looks down onto the cobbled patio at the front of the house with views of the swimming pool.

The twin bedroom has patio doors leading out onto the back cobbled patio are with its high pagoda and vine covering, another quiet spot to sit and read or enjoy a glass of wine, with views across the neighbouring farm land and beautiful mountains.

The family bathroom has bath and shower and modern sink and taps, with a locally made handmade terracotta tiled floor with beautiful white estrellas (stars) giving it a modern yet morrish feel.
